The opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has raised alarm that soldiers are escorting political thugs allegedly sponsored by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC , to perpetrate electoral malpractices in the Bayelsa governorship election.
The PDP, made this known via its verified Twitter handle, @PDPNIGERIA.
Heavy shooting reported at Oporoma headquarters of Southern Ijaw local government area has forced residents to stay indoors. According to a tweet by NTA credited to Bayelsa INEC Resident Electoral Officer, INEC officials were held hostage at Oporoma headquaters of South Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa; heavy shootings witnessed.
This is in spite of the ten gunboats deployed in the waterways to wade off would be trouble makers in the area.
