Nigeria held Algeria to a goalless draw to qualify for the semi final of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal on Saturday evening.
The Dream Team finished runners up behind Les Fennecs courtesy of an inferior goal difference.
Mali defeated Egypt 1-0 in the other game in Group B to deny the Pharaohs of an opportunity of making it into the last four.
Nigeria will now face hosts Senegal in the semi final while Algeria will take on Group A runners up South Africa.
Both sides played a cagey game with Algeria only going on target once out of five attempts. The Nigerians saw all of their three attempts on target but could not convert.
Nigeria coach Samson Siasia will face a daunting task against the Terenga Lions who won all their three group matches.
The top three teams would secure automatic qualification to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
